File Type Associations With ProfileUnity

If you are looking to retain File Type Associations with profileUnity in 6.8.3+ there are a few things you need to modify in your current Pre 6.8.3 configuration to make this more consistent.

First disable all DISM related items, you will see

two in User Defied scripts

%systemroot%\system32\cmd.exe /c attrib -H "%USERPROFILE%\AppAssoc.xml" && del /q/f "%USERPROFILE%\AppAssoc.xml" >> "%temp%\AppAssoc.log"

%systemroot%\sysnative\cmd.exe /c Dism.exe /online /Export-DefaultAppAssociations:"%USERPROFILE%\AppAssoc.xml" >> "%temp%\AppAssoc.log"

and two in Application Launcher

/c Dism.exe /Online /Import-DefaultAppAssociations:"%USERPROFILE%\AppAssoc.xml" >> "%temp%\AppAssoc.log"

+H "%USERPROFILE%\AppAssoc.xml"

Now import the new App Association Rule Set into your profileunity system.

Lastly go into your configuration and change the Portability rule for File Type Associations to the new rule you just imported and deploy this new configuration.

ProfileUnity will now automatically handle the FTA settings going forward.
